I built homes before I sold them

Charles Carper, new home sales at Collins Ridge. North Carolina real estate broker, with a construction background.

Charles Carper

Before I sold new homes, I worked for a general contractor and saw every stage of a build, from setting the foundation to closing.

Learning the do's and don'ts that way gave me perspective on what goes on in building a home: where aesthetics and structural cost have to balance, and what really matters. I know what's behind the drywall, and I know which questions are worth asking before you pick a plan. If you're not sure where to start, the Collins Ridge floor plan finder asks a few questions and points you to the plans worth a look.

That's the job now. I ask a lot of questions, and I think about them before I ask. Sometimes the honest answer is a different plan, a different neighborhood, or not yet. I'd rather tell you that than sell you the wrong house.
